The Cyprus Association of Mediators is organizing the webinar titled: “The Importance of Fostering Trust in Mediation”, on December 3rd, 2020, at 17:00 pm-18:00 pm. In commercial mediation, the exchange between parties of strategic information such as interests, options and solutions, is essential in order to reach a settlement. However, parties, advisers and insurance claims professionals encounter a pervasive problem of mistrust, which hampers efficient communication about the key elements in the mediation. What are the sources of such mistrust in mediation? What are the consequences? How can the mediator avoid mistrust between parties and foster trust? The Keynote Speaker of the webinar will be Mr Willem Meuwissen. Willem Meuwissen is an expert negotiator, mediator and litigator in commercial corporate and real estate law, fluent in Dutch, French, English and German. He is a permanent member of the Belgian Federal Mediation Commission and a member of the Flemish Bar Association ADR Commission. He is also the author of several publications in Commercial Law and Mediation Mr Theodoros Kringou, President of the Cyprus Association of Mediators, will address a welcome speech at the beginning of the webinar.
