Impactful story-based diversity training
|
|
|
Everyone has the right to be safe and respected at work, but this does not always happen. Diversity and Inclusion at Work: MyStory sheds light on instances of discrimination all too frequently experienced by people in the workplace.
The course includes three main sections: Experience, Explore and Share, with the “Seek help” function providing the guidance and resources for staff who wish to report inappropriate behaviour. The course covers the aspects of the UK Equality Act 2010 related to workplace diversity and can include custom content such as internal policies and stories that resonate with your staff.

The course is now available for purchase. It can used as standalone diversity training, or it can be paired with other diversity courses.

MyStory — the message
The act of speaking up challenges the kinds of behaviours that turn workplaces into arenas of abuse. The idea of training through impactful stories was initially inspired by the #MeToo movement in our anti-harassment course. Sharing a story, telling a personal experience and confronting the abusers and the workplace dynamics that protect them is how we can start to change workplace culture for the better.

Harassment and discrimination whistleblowing portal
|
|
|
Part of the change required in organisations involves staff feeling comfortable reporting behaviour that makes them, or one of their colleagues, feel uncomfortable. The whistleblowing portal is VinciWorks' solution to the vast amounts of acts of discrimination that go unnoticed and unpunished. It allows staff to easily and anonymously raise concerns of any discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour.

Course customisations
Diversity and Inclusion at Work: MyStory is 100% customisable. Here are some of the customisations organisations may choose to apply to the course:
- The required reading (number of stories that need to be read)
- The sections that must be completed
- The contact details of a diversity and inclusion representative
- Legislation — the course is currently compliant with the UK Equality Act but can be customised to comply with the laws of any jurisdiction
- A whistleblowing portal that can be embedded into the course to allow users to anonymously report discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour
