Athos Kyranides, Head of the Trade Finance Operations at Eurivex, in his presentation “Alternative sources of working capital financing in Cyprus”, Athos Kyranides will analyze the major restructuring which the Cyprus banking sector is going through.
He will also explain how tighter lending regulations have made bank borrowing much slower and more difficult, especially for SMEs. Working capital financing needs to be fast, flexible and dynamic. Traditional bank financing (loans and overdrafts) are not, since it is dependent on tangible securities which are often insufficient to cover rising needs. Factoring gives businesses easy access to fresh funds without tangible security.
