Chartered Governance Professional, UK Simon Osborne was CEO of ICSA: The Governance Institute from October 2011 to June 2019 after several years as a consultant for ICSA Board Evaluation. He led a change and turnaround programme which has resulted in a more proactive organisation focusing on four pillars: representing and engaging with members, giving greater support to students, raising ICSA’s profile and assuring operational capability, and economic sustainability. Simon is an ICSA Fellow, having qualified first as a solicitor in England. He worked as in-house counsel for 30 years in the railway industry, latterly as company secretary and general counsel of the former Railtrack Group PLC. Apart from ICSA, Simon is a member of the International Corporate Governance Network and an executive fellow of London Business School. He is also a vice-president of a charity, the Railway Benefit Fund.
